This lecture is an introduction to emergency bedside ultrasound exam - AFAST, TFAST/VetBLUE, and will briefly focus on cardiac ultrasound (LaAo, LAD, assessment of volume status). Incorporating these ultrasound techniques into emergency practice enhances the ability to make rapid, life-saving decisions. Through continual advancements in technology and technique, veterinarians are better equipped to provide comprehensive care in critical situations.

Aubrey Hnatusko DVM, DACVECC

Dr. Aubrey Hnatusko is particularly drawn to the fast-paced environment of emergency and critical care medicine, as well as the diversity and complexity of the cases she encounters. As the only full-time practicing criticalist in Oklahoma, Dr. Hnatusko is dedicated to her field. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys hiking, participating in 5K races, and indulging in her passion for her pets, including her West Highland White Terrier, Kenzie, and her German Shorthaired Pointer puppy, Gunner. Additionally, she is in the process of developing her mini-ranch and has a variety of personal interests, including reading, wine tasting, whiskey sampling, listening to Red Dirt country music, and supporting the OSU Cowboys.
